Association of Salt Producers

For effective implementation of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On prevention of iodine deficiency disorders" of 14.10.2003 ¹489-II of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan there has been established Association of Salt Producers of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
For more coordination of fruitful efforts for production of quality iodine white salt for the population want of the whole Republic. In autumn 2005 the official presentation of new Association of salt producers took place.

    MAIN AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF ASSOCIATION:
  1. unification and concentration of efforts of Association members for development of their activity in the field of salt production and sale;
  2. legal protection and support of rights and interests of association members in interrelations with governmental authorities, trade unions and other organizations;
  3. protection of rights of domestic manufacturers in view of accession into WTO, CIS, Eurasian Economical Community. Development of international links, assistance in partnership creation;
  4. consolidation of Association members efforts, directed to development of industry, stable provision of population with salt and improvement of salt quality.
  5. assistance in creation of legislative and normative base of manufacturers and sellers' activity;
  6. participation and preparation of draft programs, perspective plans and other decisions in the field of engineering, technology, economy, finance and ecology of salt production;
  7. actualization of economic and scientific and technical cooperation with foreign companies, scientific organizations, public organizations and other organizations;
  8. propaganda of scientific technical and productive achievements and participation in their implementation, spreading of progressive experience;
  9. assistance in handling of work on certification of quality systems for harmonization with International standards ISO of 9000 series.

Basic trends in Association activity, its rights and duties:

    Association:
  • Represents interests of Association members in legislative and executive bodies in relations with public or other organizations.
  • Provides members of Association with statistical, analytical, normative, scientific and technical information on production and turnover of salt.
  • Assists in implementation of progressive technologies and equipment.
  • Enters into cooperation with producers of raw materials and equipment, coordinates scientific research laboratories and institutions work on development of new types of products and innovational technologies.
  • Organizes independent public expertise of draft laws, scientific and technical programs regarding production and turnover of salt and represents its results to relevant authorities in established order.
  • Submits offers regarding the drafts of regulatory provisions and other questions concerning sphere of action of association.
  • Elaborates and generalizes recommendations on questions of implementation of new types of products and production methods to the effect of quality improvement and range o products.
  • Renders consulting services to Association members.
  • Promulgates achievements in the field of production and turnover of salt in mass media, regularly attracting attention of authorities, mass media and public to progress in given industry;
  • Organizes and conducts seminars, conferences, exhibitions and other arrangements, assisting in achievement of Association goals.
  • Establishes public rewards and honorary degrees for encouragement of active work and appraisal of merits of legal bodies and physical persons in development of salt industry.
  • Performs other activities, not contradicting effective legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

    ÀÎ "Araltuz" and ÎÀÎ "Pavlodarsol" are the participants of Asian Development Bank JFPR 9005/52 Project and United Nations Children's Fund under the Financial support of Japanese Fund for Poverty Reduction. These enterprises produce iodine common salt liberal share in quality output of which belongs to AO "Araltuz" products.

    Association of Salt producers of the Republic of Kazakhstan has already recommended itself on the market of food products. The range of products is developing; the work on modernization of production and improvement of package is in progress. Thus, products of Association member AO "Araltuz" is awarded with -2 Golden Medals of 11th International exhibition of food industry "FoodExpoKazakhstan-2005", which took place in May of 2005 in Almaty. Top prizes were awarded for high quality of products and for new cardboard package of iodine salt, being come out on that exhibition.
